Get Ready With Me: Surgery Day Edition

So, you’ve scheduled your refractive eye surgery. Congratulations!
You’ve just taken a major step toward clearer, sharper vision for life. It’s a big decision, and understandably so. After all, we’re talking about your eyes, arguably your most important sense. If you're anything like me, you want to feel prepared and in control heading into surgery day. That’s where we come in. Let’s walk through what to expect, how to set yourself up for success, and what you can control, because when it comes to the rest, you're in great hands.

Let’s Walk Through Your Surgery Morning—You’ve Got This!

BEEP BEEP BEEP—rise and shine! It’s the big day, and we’re here to help make it as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Start your morning with a nice shower to rinse off any lingering products, fragrances, or residue from your skin. When it comes to makeup, that one’s easy, just skip it. We prefer your skin and lashes au naturel. That way, you can stick to your own skincare routine at home instead of using a makeup wipe here at the office.

Of course, feel free to brush your teeth and apply deodorant, but that’s all you’ll need. If you have long hair, please wear it down or in a low ponytail to ensure your head rests comfortably on the surgical bed.

No matter the season, our OR tends to be a little chilly, so bring a cozy sweatshirt if you get cold easily. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes, think soft sweats and your favorite slides, so you can head straight home and crawl into bed afterward.

Before you leave the house, feel free to eat your favorite meal, just skip the caffeine so you can enjoy a nice, restful nap post-procedure.

Then hop in the car and head our way at your scheduled arrival time. From there, we’ll take care of the rest.

This just might be the easiest "get ready with me" ever.
