Meet Gabby: LASIK Technician with a Love for Adventure
Hey! I’m Gabby, and I’ve been part of the Keil LASIK family since my college days at Michigan State University—GO GREEN! I started working here while earning my undergraduate degree in physiology, and I’ve stayed because I genuinely love what we do. Now, having graduated, I’m in the process of applying to medical school with hopes of becoming an ophthalmologist, just like Dr. Keil.
Outside of work and academics, I’m a passionate hiker and traveler. Every summer, for the past 20 years or so, I’ve made it a tradition to head out west and summit mountains. My favorite so far? Longs Peak in Colorado. One of my ultimate goals is to climb Mt. Denali one day! If I weren't on the path to becoming a doctor, I’d probably be an alpinist full-time.
When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me hiking or swimming along Michigan’s beautiful Lakeshore. I’ve been fortunate to travel quite a bit, but nothing quite compares to a Michigan summer. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is my favorite local escape, and it's where I often recharge.
A few fun facts about me:
- I have a minor in Spanish
- I’ve got a serious love for the outdoors and the mountains
- I have the cutest dog ever—his name is Chewbacca (yes, like the Wookiee!)
Working at Keil LASIK has been such a meaningful part of my journey toward becoming a physician. I’m grateful for the hands-on experience, the amazing team, and the chance to grow in a field I’m passionate about. Here's to the future—filled with both clear vision and epic views!
